Perdersi nell’immensità è la definizione che forse descrive meglio il sentimento che si prova percorrendo questo paesaggio così aperto, dai rari alberi. La desolazione sembrerebbe padrona, nel dominio inospitale dell’”industria agricola”, ma questo paesaggio in realtà mostra le sue radici antiche: gli immensi latifondi romani, nati nel basso Impero e continuati nelle immense tenute rurali nobliari. Le "crete viterbesi" ospitano una varietà di comunità viventi adattate all'ambiente aperto e abbracciano i resti della civiltà etrusca che ha quì dominato per quasi 5 secoli.

DESCRIPTION
Losing yourself in immensity is the definition that perhaps best describes the feeling that you feel passing throught a such open landscape, with rare trees. You might think desolation is mistress, in this inhospitable domain of the "agricultural industry", but this landscape actually has very ancient origin: the immense Roman latifundia, born in the lower Empire and continued in the immense noble historical rural estates. The "crete viterbesi" host a variety of living communities adapted to the open environment and embrace the remains of the Etruscan civilization that has dominated here for almost 5 centuries.
