Durante il mese di maggio 2022, abbiamo ospitato tre artiste Makenzie Heinemann, pittrice, Anjali Khosla, scrittrice e Crystal Jow, artista multimediale, tutte originarie dagli Stati Uniti. Questo sabato vi invitiamo a trascorrere una mattina d'arte insieme. Alle 11:00 le artiste presenteranno il lavoro sviluppato durante il mese a 33OC, e condivideranno con voi il loro processo creativo. Vi aspettiamo numerosi!
MAKENZIE HEINEMANN
Durante la mia permanenza a Toffia, ho creato piccoli studi in acquerello che in futuro verranno utilizzati per creare dipinti grandi dimensioni. Il paesaggio e le aree circostanti hanno contribuito nuovi colori e forme alle composizioni che riporterò nel mio nuovo studio in Texas.
Makenzie Heinemann è un'artista interdisciplinare il cui lavoro esplora i misteri poetici e sensuali della natura. Lavorando con la malleabilità e le forme ad incastro, illustra le nostre membrane permeabili, e la nostra intimità con altri corpi nell'ambiente. Il suo ultimo corpus di lavori consiste in dipinti su tela grezza, creati sul pavimento, in un processo simile alla medianità. Descrive i suoi dipinti come auto-rivelati, piuttosto che creati. ANJALI KHOSLA
Durante la sua residenza presso Officina Creativa 33, Anjali ha scritto una serie di poesie ispirate alla storia di Toffia, includendo i materiali d'archivio conservati nella sua stanza. Il progetto di Anjali è stato particolarmente influenzato da alcune poetesse italiane, il cui lavoro ha incontrato durante il suo soggiorno a Toffia.
Anjali Khosla è una scrittrice con sede a New York, e professore di giornalismo presso la New School di Manhattan. È autrice del libro di poesie Ghostbot (Wendy's Subyway/Nor By Press), premiata dal New York Press Club e dalla South Asian Journalists Association. anjalikhosla.com

Crystal Jow è una media designer 'esperienziale’ e istruttrice di movimento con sede a Los Angeles, specializzata in installazioni immersive guidate dal pubblico, ed esperienze meditative che esplorano il movimento e i media. Crystal crede che la sua pratica artistica può offrire al pubblico l'opportunità di auto-riflessione, e la capacità d'indagare sulle relazioni intorno a noi, e al nostro subconscio. crystaljow.com

During the month of May we hosted three US-based artists: painter Makenzie Heinemann, writer Anjali Khosla, and, multimedia artist Crystal Jow. This Saturday we invite you to spend a morning of art with them. At 11:00 am, the artists will present the work developed during the month at 33OC and will share their creative process. We hope many of you will join us!
MAKENZIE HEINEMANN
During my time in Toffia, I’ve been creating small watercolor studies which will be used for larger paintings in the future. The landscape and surrounding areas of the region have contributed new colors and shapes to my compositions, which I will carry back to my new studio in Texas.
Makenzie Heinemann is an interdisciplinary artist whose work explores the poetic and sensual mysteries of nature. Working with malleability and interlocking forms, she illustrates our own permeable membranes and intimacy with other bodies in the environment. Her newest body of work consists of process-based, color field paintings on raw canvas, created on the floor, in a process akin to mediumship. She describes her paintings as revealing themselves, rather than being created. Heinemann’s work models her personal and spiritual relationship with nature, simultaneously a refuge and an illusion.
ANJALI KHOSLA
At 33 Officina Creativa, Anjali wrote a series of poems inspired by Toffia's history, including archival materials stored in her residency bedroom. Anjali's project was particularly influenced by a number of Italian women poets whose work she encountered during her stay in the village.
Anjali Khosla is a New York City-based writer, and a journalism professor at The New School in Manhattan. She is the author of the poetry chapbook Ghostbot (Wendy's Subyway/Nor By Press) and the recipient of awards from the New York Press Club and the South Asian Journalists Association.
CRYSTAL JOW
Orbit. Do you ever long for a memory of a place from the past, for the present, for home, or a place you have not yet explored? Orbit is an interactive installation that explores snippets of the artist's location-memories archived in refracted prisms.
Crystal Jow is a Los Angeles-based experiential media designer and movement instructor that specialises in audience-driven immersive installations and meditative experiences that explore motion and media. Crystal believes her art practice provides audiences with the opportunity for self-reflection and the ability to investigate relationships around us and the subconscious.
